Alix (Landais) Timothy

Investment Manager - Special Situations, OCIO chez British International Investment plc

Alix is an Investment Manager within British International Investment (BII)’s Special Situations unit. Under this capacity, she is involved in the management of distressed investments, restructurings, and workouts across BII’s Private Equity, Private Debt, and Funds portfolios in Africa and South Asia. She is currently based in London, UK.

 

Prior to joining BII in 2018, Alix was a Senior Manager with Adam Smith International (ASI). Under this capacity, she relocated to Kinshasa, DRC, to manage ASI’s largest and award-winning private sector development programme supporting hundreds of businesses across the renewable energy, agriculture, transport, and financial services sectors in the DRC.

 

Alix has held various roles across the Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Business Incubation segments and has working and living experience across Africa, Latin and North America, Southeast Asia, and Europe. She holds a Master in Management with major in Corporate Finance from Neoma Business School (France) and studied International Management at the FGV-EAESP (Brazil).

 

Aside from her involvement with EnCircle, Alix is a mentor under the City Hive Cross-Company Mentoring Scheme developed in partnership with #TalkAboutBlack. She seats in the Steering Committee of BII’s Africa affinity employee network and is passionate about enabling access to resources, experts, and voices that can participate to advance organisational and societal thinking and actions around race and ethnicity issues including fostering diversity, inclusion, and parity in access to professional opportunities.
